Where Form Begins, and Meaning Takes Shape: A Journey Through Carrara with FUM

2025-06-04 | Corporate News

This year, during Milan Design Week, while the city celebrated creativity in all its forms, Franchi Umberto Marmi opened the doors to something more elemental—a return to the origins of material, meaning and design.

In the storied landscape of Carrara, beneath the imposing faces of Calacatta marble, FUM welcomed architects, designers and stone enthusiasts to explore marble not just as a material, but as a medium of ideas. Set against the raw beauty of the quarries and the refined energy of our factory, the experience offered a layered look at what it means to work with natural stone today.

It was more than a visit—it was an invitation to engage. Guests moved beyond the surface, learning about the processes behind marble transformation, hearing from experts, and discovering our FUM Academy program, which has long been our way of passing on knowledge gained through generations.

Through thoughtful conversations around architecture, interiors and emerging trends, we explored not just where marble comes from—but where it can take us.

From origin to outcome, we believe understanding the full story of stone enriches every project. And that’s what we hoped to share during this special moment in Carrara.

We don’t just take you to the source. We help you understand it.

To everyone who joined us—thank you. These shared experiences shape not only how we see marble, but how we see design itself.
